Culture:


  • History: Nicaragua has experienced periods of dictatorships, revolutions, and civil conflicts. Currently, it is a republic facing economic and political challenges. 

  • Economy: Primarily based on agriculture, tourism, and remittances, Nicaragua has one of the most dependent economies in Central America. 

  • Music: The marimba is the national instrument, and the palo de mayo is one of the most representative dances. 

  • Food: Gallo pinto, nacatamales, and vigorón are some of the most popular dishes. 

  • Traditions: The Santo Domingo festival in Managua is one of the most important religious festivities. La Purísima, a celebration of the Virgin Mary, is also very popular.
